I absolutely can't help myself. I HAVE to say this...

"The pacifist is as surely a traitor to his country and to humanity as is the most brutal wrongdoer."
--Theodore Roosevelt

So, Bowe Bergdahl isn't a hero. Surprise, surprise. I mean, I guess he can still be your Progressive poster child. After all, y'all would probably prefer to rally around a deserter. This revelation probably makes him seem even braver to many of you on the Left. Bergdahl's desertion probably seems like the biggest slap in the face, thumbing of the nose, middle fingered-raised protest of war EVER. And I suppose his choice to desert will endear him to many of you, make him your golden child, make him your hero. Perhaps, Micheal Moore will finally find a hero he can rally around. And that reality, that psychosis, is why my stomach turns and my rhetoric toward the Left remains harsh. The Left's mentality is mind-boggling to me.

But I digresss...

It turns out that Bergdahl wasn't the victim of some middle-of-the-night abduction by terrorists or enemy combatants. He didn't get drunk and unwittingly stumble outside the military perimeter into the hands of unsuspecting captors. He walked away. He deserted his unit. He freely and of his own accord walked away from the duty he was charged with performing and the service he swore an oath to complete. He betrayed his unit, all his fellow soldiers, some of whom died in an effort to recover him, and ultimately, our country. He is a coward and because of his terrible perfidy, he is, in my opinion, responsible for the deaths of the true heroes who sought to return him to safety after he disappeared. He is traitor and should be treated as such.

Gosh, I am so glad we risked our national security and established this new train-wreck-of-a-foreign-policy for the safety and life of an Army deserter. Thank you, Mr. President. Thank you for putting so many brave American lives at risk for the life of someone who chose to walk into the arms of our enemy. Our Dear Leader's wisdom and leadership never ceases to amaze me. Seriously, I am constantly amazed. *sigh*

And just for kicks and giggles, here are the names of the Gitmo detainees our Dear Leader decided to release in exchange for the blonde-headed national disgrace: Khair Ulla Said Wali Khairkhwa, Mullah Mohammad Fazl, Mullah Norullah Nori, Abdul Haq Wasiq and Mohammad Nabi Omari. Admittedly, these five individuals were what the defense department referred to as "mid to high level officials within the Taliban" with ties to al Qaeda. Most were apprehended early in the war (2002ish).  But don't be deceived, Khairkhwa had direct ties to Osama bin Laden and Abu Musab al Zarqawi, the deceased al Qaeda leader in Iraq. Of course, each of them denied associations with terrorism and extremist behavior. Yeah, I bet they were totally telling the truth. Totally.

And the trend continues. We traded some more detainees for an American couple this past weekend. And, listen people, there is no end in sight. Obama will continue to trade lives for lives because this policy appeases his base and reconciles beautifully with his plan for shutting down Gitmo. After all, freeing prisoners from Gitmo has completely softened the extremist's feelings toward us and our Allies. Just ask Charlie Hebdo and the Japanese captives and the Jews at the kosher grocery store and the Kurds and Iraqis being slaughtered for assisting us during our time in Iraq. Yeah, releasing enemy combatants back into the fight is definitely the American olive branch these "misunderstood" Islamic murderers are going to positively respond to.

Here is a your daily dose of truth, people: Barack Hussein Obama doesn't care what is best for America. He doesn't care about the long term effects of these types of "human trades" and foreign policy decisions. Hear me out, he doesn't care. He is a man on a mission. He is a man with a plan. And rest assured, dear friends, that plan doesn't end well for us.
